ATTICA, Ohio – Despite the cancellation of the first four events of 2018, Attica Raceway Park Promoter John Bores is committed to rewarding the loyal race teams that support “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speed plant with a great point fund and strong weekly payout once again.
To celebrate the track’s 30th anniversary season, the total point fund for the three divisions will remain at $47,000. The teams in the Callies Performance Products 410 Sprints will battle for a total point fund for the top 10 of $22,000 with the champion taking home $8,000. The Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Model champion will pocket $5,000 with a total of $15,000 going to the top 10 in points. The champion of the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints will once again collect $3,000 with a total of $10,000 being divided up among the top 10 in points.
Also the top 10 in points in all three divisions will receive gift cards from Summit Racing Equipment and product/gift certificates from Ultra Shield Race Products. The “mulligan” rule will once again be in affect in 2018. If a driver misses one night of competition he/she will receive 75 points one time only providing they did not compete at another race on that night.

We wanted to let our teams know how much we appreciate them. Just because the weather hasn’t cooperated early on doesn’t mean we won’t reward them with a great point fund for 2018. Our weekly purses and season point fund are some of the best in Ohio. We are able to reward our race teams because of the tremendous support we get from our area business partners and of course the fans,” said John Bores, Attica Raceway Park Promoter.

The weekly 410 sprints will pay $3,000 to win while the late models will pay $1,200 to win and the 305 sprints will pay $750 to win.

The complete purses and point funds can be found at www.atticaracewaypark.com under the purse tab at the top.

Attica Raceway Park opening night is planned for Friday, April 13. Whiteford Kenworth, Construction Equipment & Supply, Merrill Lynch Night will feature the Callie’s Performance Products 410 Sprints, Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. ATTICA, Ohio – Clear vision on the track for a racer sounds simplistic but how that occurs takes a lot of innovation, something Racing Optics continues to accomplish for every form of motorsports. Racing Optics will help the drivers competing in the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic not only with better vision but as the event’s presenting sponsor.

The 30th Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic Presented by Racing Optics hits the track at Attica Raceway Park on Tuesday, July 10 (rain date of Wednesday, July 11) featuring the best sprint car drivers in the world. The 2017 Brad Doty Classic had 58 drivers compete for the $10,000 top prize, the largest single day car count of the season for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“Racing Optics is constantly working on new and innovative products and continues to find ways to incorporate their unique and patented tearoff design into other areas including the GoClear tearoffs for GoPros and even screen protectors for smart phones. Racing Optics tearoffs are by far the best tearoffs on the market and are used all over the world,” said Brad Doty, co-promoter of the race.

“Racing Optics began as a heat race sponsor back in 2009 and became the events presenting sponsor in 2010. We’ve had a long and great marketing partnership and I’m elated that they will be back with us in 2018,” added Doty.

Racing Optics®, Inc. is located in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was founded in 1999 by Bart, Steve and Seth Wilson. Racing Optics®, Inc. and the Wilson family have deep roots in the racing industry dating back to the 1940’s where the father of Bart and Steve, Dempsey Wilson, began building and racing roadsters and even went on to race the Indy 500.  The competitive spirit that racing requires has helped the Wilson family drive their respective businesses to become very successful.

Racing Optics®, Inc. is the proprietor and only manufacturer of Laminated Tearoffs.  Racing Optics®, Inc. has become a staple and even a necessity to every racer in every category of motor sports, including NASCAR, Formula1, dirt track racing and motocross. Racing Optics®, Inc. is the only manufacturer qualified to sell Laminated Tearoffs to the U.S. Military and proudly sells to many well known companies.

Racing Optics Laminated-Tearoffs were nominated top 15 most innovative product in the past 15 year of motocross racing. Now laminated-tearoffs are seen as a necessity to top racers. Invented in 2002 by Racing Optics, laminated tearoff stacks were a tremendous leap forward in technology.  Single tearoffs stake on top of a goggle lens distort the rider’s vision with each additional layer, but a Racing Optics SpeedStack7 has the clarity of a single tearoff.

Mother Nature wins again at Attica

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATTICA, Ohio – Though it’s called the Core & Main SPRING Nationals at Attica Raceway Park, Mother Nature surely isn’t paying attention.

The forecast for Attica, Ohio for Friday, April 6 – opening night of the 29th annual spring nationals presented by Construction Equipment & Supply and Merrill Lynch – is calling for windy and cold conditions with snow flurries. The forecast forSaturday’s racing at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” venue shows a high temperature of only 38 degrees with a low of 23.

That has led to the cancellation of racing at Attica Raceway Park for the weekend.

The season-opening night for the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series presented by Ohio Logistics scheduled for Friday, April 6 will not be rescheduled.  However, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobile 1 race scheduled for April 7 will be rescheduled for Friday, April 20 for Core & Main Night presented by Fisher Performance with pit gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing under way at 7:45 p.m.

“The calendar says spring but weather isn’t showing that. We have had a lot of rain and cold and very little drying conditions. Then you throw in temperatures way below normal for this time of year and it’s just not conducive for the racing and environment our great fans and teams deserve,” said Rex LeJeune, Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

“We didn’t get a significant amount of drying time Friday and Saturday the forecast is for rain in the afternoon and rain turning to snow in the evening. I want to say thanks to all the fans and race teams for their patience and to our great track crew for all the hard work they have been putting in,” said Rex LeJeune, Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

Attica Raceway Park opening night is planned for Friday, April 13. Whiteford Kenworth, Construction Equipment & Supply, Merrill Lynch Night will feature the Callie’s Performance Products 410 Sprints, Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. Gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing under way at 7:45 p.m.
