By Brian Liskai: ATTICA, Ohio (March 2, 2006) – The racing action in Northwest Ohio is second to none in the United States. And the purse at Attica Raceway Park for 2006 will reflect that high caliber of competition.
“We are very encouraged by the support we’ve received from the many sponsors who have signed on as business partners in 2006,” said ARP Director of Operations, Rex LeJeune.
Just two months since new ARP Promoter John Bores and the team he has put together to run “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant began work, 19 out of the 24 scheduled nights of racing have sponsorship backing.
“With this support and continued great support from the fans, Attica is anticipating one of the most exciting racing seasons in the 19 year history of the track,” said LeJeune.
“Between Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway, race teams and fans have a great opportunity to enjoy an entertaining and exciting weekend of action,” added Bores, noting the two tracks are within 40 miles of each other.
Mix together that great fan support, the backing from the business community and some of most entertaining weekly racing in the country, and you have a recipe for fun and excitement!
LeJeune said the weekly purse at Attica Raceway Park will pay the winner of the 410 sprint feature $2,500, with the A-main paying $250 to start. The highly competitive 305 sprint division will pay $500 to win the A-main, with $120 to start. The battling limited late models will compete for $500 to win each week and $75 to start the A-main. The three division weekly payoff totals $20,925. And, when the Dirt Trucks make it a four division program they will race for $300 to win and $60 to start the A Main, taking the total night’s purse to over $23,000.
