Hours set for Attica Raceway Park opener

ATTICA, Ohio – With a forecast of sunny skies and temperatures in the 50s, Attica Raceway Park will kick off the 2021 racing season Saturday, March 20 on Construction Equipment and Supply Night. Gates will open Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with pill draw closing at 2:15 p.m. followed by hot laps at 2:30 p.m. and racing at 4 p.m.

“By moving the times up we hope everyone can enjoy a fun afternoon of racing and be on their way home before it gets too cold,” said Rex LeJeune, Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

LeJeune noted rains are called for Thursday with some snow showers and rain Friday. “Let’s hope we don’t get a lot of rain that would leave us with no time to get the grounds dried out,” he added.

Competing opening night will be the Callie’s Performance Products 410 Sprints; Propane.com/Dirt Nerds Podcast Late Models and the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.

Attica moves season opener to Saturday

ATTICA, Ohio – Due to a projected forecast of heavy rains Thursday and very cold temperatures Friday night, Attica Raceway Park will utilize the rain date of Saturday, March 20 for Construction Equipment and Supply Night.

Another change – because of the temperatures – gates and race time will be moved up but exact times have yet to be determined and will be released later this week.

“It is suppose to be in the 50s Saturday afternoon with lots of sunshine,” said Rex LeJeune, Attica Raceway Park Director of Operations. “We know it’s been a rough year and a long winter and moving the opener to Saturday and the start times up gives the race teams and fans a chance to enjoy some great racing,” LeJeune added.

Competing opening night will be the Callie’s Performance Products 410 Sprints; Propane.com/Dirt Nerds Podcast Late Models and the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.

Attica Raceway Park to increase purse for 305s and late models in 2021

ATTICA, Ohio – Attica Raceway Park will increase the weekly purses for the Propane.com/Dirt Nerds Podcast UMP Late Models and the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints for the 2021 season.

“Both divisions will see increases in the middle and especially in the start money for the A-mains,” said Attica Raceway Park Director of Operations Rex LeJeune. “We are able to do this thanks to the support of our great fans and marketing partners. It’s our way of showing our appreciation for the support these race teams give us every week.”

The UMP Late Models will pay $1,200 to win and $200 to start the feature. The UMP Late Models will race for $2,000 to win on June 11, Sept. 3, and Sept. 10. The late models will also race for $3,000 to win on May 7.

The Fremont Fence 305 Sprints will pay $750 to win and $200 to start the feature. The 305 Sprints will race for $1,000 to win on May 14, May 21, July 30, Sept. 4, and Sept. 10.

Also for the first time in several years weekly admission prices will have a slight increase. Adults will be $18 and seniors $15. Teens will remain at $10 and kids 10 and under will remain free. Pit passes will remain at $30.

“We feel with the increase in purse money and our great point fund of $47,000 featuring three headline divisions will continue to give our great fans some of the best weekly racing in the country,” said Promoter John Bores.

Schedule Update: Attica Spring Nationals Move

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (February 25, 2021) – Opening the 2021 All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 points championship season one week earlier than scheduled, Attica Raceway Park’s annual Core & Main Spring Nationals will now be conducted on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3, replacing the previously set dates of April 9-10. The Core & Main Spring Nationals will feature back-to-back programs awarding $5,000 and $6,000, respectively.

If weather should become a factor forcing the cancellation of both events on April 2-3, April 9-10 will be utilized as rain dates.

In addition, the recently revamped I-70 Motorsports Park in Odessa, Missouri, has been added to the 2021 All Star schedule and will host “America’s Series” on Tuesday, July 27, padding what is now a seven-race, nine-day swing through Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa.

Led by Track Manager, Tommy Estes, Jr., I-70 will award a $7,000 payday during their weekday showcase, joining an already established slate of Midwest stops including Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on July 23-24, Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., on July 25, Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., on July 29, and an Iowa doubleheader at 34 Raceway in West Burlington and Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville on July 30-31, respectively.

Attica Raceway Park plans huge 2021 season with 25 events

ATTICA, Ohio – Attica Raceway Park’s 33rdanniversary season kicks off Friday, March 19 with 25 events scheduled carrying over $700,000 in feature money on the line. The track recently announced the addition of seats to extend the top rows for fans.

“We are so excited for 2021 which looks to be one of the biggest seasons in the history of Attica Raceway Park. We are so thankful for the support we received from the fans, race teams, employees, marketing partners…all the cooperation we got to be able to hold races during the pandemic was unbelievable,” said Rex LeJeune, Director of Operations at Attica Raceway Park.

Seven of the 2021 events will bring in the nation’s top touring sprint car organizations.

 Tony Stewart’s All Star Circuit of Champions will visit five times including the Core & Main Spring Nationals, Friday, April 9 ($5,000 to win) and Saturday, April 10 ($6,000 to win); Opening night of Ohio Sprint Speedweek, Friday, June 11; and the traditional Attica Ambush on Friday, Sept. 3 ($5,000 to win) and Saturday, Sept. 4, $10,000 to win. The series has visited “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speed plant 128 times; second only to Eldora in total appearances.

The World of Outlaw NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series has added a second trip to Attica in 2021. The Kistler Engines Classic will be held Friday, May 21and pay $10,000 to win. The 33rd Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic presented by Racing Optics will be held Tuesday, July 13 and pay $10,000. The weekly Callie’s Performance Products 410 sprints are scheduled to compete in a total of 17 events in 2021 at Attica with nine of those shows being part of the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Baumann Auto Group (AFCS). Four of the AFCS shows will pay $4,000 to win (Friday, May 14 for the 33rd Annual Eric Phillips Anniversary Classic; Friday, June 25 and Friday July 23 presented by Spanky’s Pizza; and the Mark Keegan Classic Season Championship Night, Friday, Sept. 10 (rain date of Sept. 17).

The Propane.com/Dirt Nerds Podcast UMP Late Models will entertain on 21 nights including a $3,000 to win show on Stillwater Metal/Bazell Race Fuels Night, Friday, May 7; $2000-to-win affairs on Friday, June 11, Friday, Sept. 3 and season championship night, Friday, Sept. 10. The annual Attica/Oakshade Raceway Late Model Series Challenge will visit Attica June 25, July 23 and Aug. 27.

The Fremont Fence 305 Sprints will also compete in 21 events in 2021 with nine of those being part of the NAPA of Bryan AFCS Presented by Jason Dietsch Trailer Sales. Two shows – Friday, May 14 presented by Gressman Powersports and the Mark Keegan Season Championship Night, Friday, Sept. 10 – will pay $1,000 to win. The 305 sprints will also battle for $1,000 to win on Friday, May 21 during the World of Outlaws visit, on Friday, July 30 presented by Griff’s Engines and Saturday, Sept. 4.

The traditional Fan Appreciation Night will be held Friday, July 2 ($10 general admission, $1 hot dogs and 40 cent popcorn along with an open pit area after hot laps to meet the drivers.
