Racing at Attica Raceway Park Will Melt The Winter Blues Soon

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) Attica Raceway Park has the cure for the winter blues – mudslinging, exciting, spills and thrills of dirt track racing!

The drivers, teams and staff at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” venue are ready to “kick the tires and light the fires” on Attica’s 20th anniversary season that opens Friday, March 21, as HD Supply Night features 410 sprints, 305 sprints and Attica Late Models. And if Mother Nature won’t cooperate, there is a rain date of Saturday, March 22.

“We’re excited about our 20th anniversary season. I want to thank the fans and race teams for all of their support the first two years I’ve had the privilege of promoting this race track,” said John Bores, Attica Raceway Park promoter.

“The 2008 schedule looks to be one of the most exciting and well-rounded in the track’s prestigious history,” added Rex LeJeune, ARP Director of Operations.
The great weekly racing featuring the 410 sprints paying $2,500 to win, along with the 305 sprints, Attica Late Models and dirt trucks makes Attica’s purse of over $23,000 one of the best in the United States.

“Then add in the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprints, the World of nOutlaws Late Models, plus three appearances of the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion sprints and two events with the Sunoco American Late Models…we’re paying out over $500,000 A-main prize money in 2008. Attica is the place to be on Friday nights!” added LeJeune.

“The weekly general admission and pit pass prices will remain the same as 2007. This will allow our fans and race teams the opportunity to see and participate in some of the best, exciting entertainment in the area at a reasonable price,” said Bores.

Several improvements have been made at ARP since the checkered flag flew on the last event in September. Restrooms and other buildings have been spruced up, stone has been put down to make the pit area more comfortable, and wind-breakers have been installed on the back of the skyboxes.

“We graded the track and added over 100 loads of dirt. The track is wider which should allow for more side-by-side racing,” added Bores.

It’s time to chase away those winter blahs….race season is at hand. Come and enjoy a great family night at Attica Raceway Park. Treat yourself to good food and sit back and enjoy the great, exciting racing in a family-oriented atmosphere.

“We work hard to ensure our fans have fun while they are here. We will have autograph Frisbees and t-shirts being thrown in the stands along with lucky fans getting rides in the official pace track and push vehicle and a whole lot more,” said LeJeune. “We’re also planning several opportunities for all the fans to visit the pit area to get autographs and pictures with their favorite drivers.”
