2010 World of Outlaws Sprints Reserved Seats Available

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) The best dirt track sprint car drivers in the world will once again sling the clay at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, May 21st, and fans can reserve their seat for the excitement!

Reserve seats – top five rows of the middle grandstands – are on sale now for $30 (add $2 per ticket for credit card processing) for the Kistler Engines Classic with the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series. Also in competitor that night will be the Fultz Fabrications & Speed Shop UMP DIRTcar Late Models. Call (419) 680-5606 now to make sure you have a seat for the great racing as all reserved seats sold out for last year’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car event.

Last year at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant, Hartford, Ohio’s Dale Blaney scored his first World of Outlaws win since 2004. Blaney took the lead on lap 30 when four-time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz got forced into the front stretch wall by a lapped machine and spun, and was hit hard by Lee Jacobs. Prior to that incident, Blaney had steadily worked his way up from his fifth starting spot and had been engaged in a tremendous battle with Jason Meyers. Once in the lead, Blaney could not shake Meyers who finished just a car length back in second.

The excitement will continue this year as “The King” Steve Kinser is now behind the wheel of a Tony Stewart Racing machine along with Schatz as a teammate. Last season’s winningest World of Outlaws driver Joey Saldana, piloting the Kasey Kahne Racing Budweiser #9, will be tough to beat at Attica, as will Meyers and Craig Dollansky aboard the #7 Big Game Tree Stands ride. Then throw in PA Posse drivers like Stevie Smith, Lucas Wolfe, Ed Lynch Jr. and the tough Attica weekly competitors of Byron Reed, Craig Mintz, Chris Andrews, Mark Keegan, Brock Mayes, Mike Linder and more and you have the recipe for a perfect night of excitement and fun.

World's Best Dirt Track Drivers To Visit Attica Raceway Park In 2010

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) With over half a million dollars in prize money up for grabs, the world’s best dirt track drivers will sling the clay at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant – Attica Raceway Park – during its 23rd season of racing in 2010.

Besides the exciting weekly Friday night competition of 410 sprints, Fultz Fabrications & Speed Shop UMP DIRTcar late models, Fremont Fence 305 sprints and the occasional door banging action of the Computer Man Inc. Dirt Trucks, ARP will play host to several “special” events in 2010 that will draw race teams from all over the world with vehicles kitted out with extras from places like RaceME for increased performance on the track!

“Every week looks like a special event in 2010, bringing in most of the top touring groups. Then, when you throw in the second season of the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. (Fremont/Attica Sprint Title) Championship Series….the fans will certainly get their money’s worth in 2010,” said ARP Promoter John Bores.

The World of Outlaw Sprint Cars and World of Outlaw Late Models will once again try to tame the high banks of ARP. The sprint cars will visit Attica for the Kistler Engines Classic on Friday, May 21, as they vie for $10,000 to win. The World of Outlaw Late Models will also vie for $10,000 on Ohio Cat Night, Friday, July 31, with the winged 410 sprints also competing that night for $3,000 to win.

The UMP wheel-hiking late models will also take center stage for the first-ever visit of the UMP Late Model Summer Nationals at ARP on UUI/Bazell Race Fuels Night, Friday, July 16. Also, the ALMS late models will tackle the clay on Friday, April 16., with tuning tips from sites like the drive blog clear for all to see and put to the test.

The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars will compete four times at Attica Raceway Park in 2010. The All Stars will kick off their northern tour with the traditional Spring Nationals presented by HD Supply on Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10. The April 9 event will pay the All Star winner $3,000 with the UMP late models also on the racing card. The 305 sprints join the All Stars on Saturday.

Attica Raceway Park will kick off the often replicated but never duplicated Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring the All Stars on Friday, June 18 on Aaron’s Sales and Lease Night.

The All Stars help ARP wrap up their season with the traditional Attica Ambush on Baumann Auto Group Night, Saturday, Sept. 4.

Other Special Events in 2010 at Attica Raceway Park Include:
• 305 Engine Builders Challenge, Friday, May 7 – an increased purse for the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.

• Burns Electric Mid-Season Championship Night – Friday, June 4 – double points for the 410 sprints, late models and 305 sprints.

Attica and Fremont Speedway will each host 11 F.A.S.T. 410 shows and 5 F.A.S.T. 305 shows in 2010 with points awarded for a separate point fund from that of both tracks.

“We are excited and thankful for all the sponsors that have come back again for the 2010 season along with some new business partners. Thanks to them and our loyal fans and teams, this coming season promises to be one of the best in the history of Attica,” said Rex LeJeune, ARP Director of Operations.

It is also worth noting that on the special Saturday night events, Attica Raceway Park will open its gates at 4 p.m. with racing slated to get underway at 7 p.m.

Goodyear To Be The Official Sprint Car Tire

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) When the green flag drops for the 2010 racing season at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway – two of the nation’s best weekly racing venues located 40 miles apart in Northwest Ohio – all of the sprint cars will be throwing clay on the wings of Goodyear Racing Eagles.

Attica Raceway Park hosts 410 winged sprint cars, UMP DIRTcar late models, 305 sprints and dirt trucks nearly every Friday night throughout the summer. Fremont Speedway plays host to winged 410 sprint cars, 305 sprints and dirt trucks nearly every Saturday night during the summer. The O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion sprint cars and World of Outlaws visit both tracks as well.

“Fremont Speedway was one of the first tracks in the nation to incorporate a spec tire for sprint cars several years ago and that tire was a Goodyear. We like the proposal Goodyear has because it helps the racers with tire incentives and helps the tracks maintain a good purse and point fund,” said Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer.

Attica Raceway Park Promoter John Bores agreed. “We look forward to working with Goodyear to help our race teams put on an entertaining night of racing for our great fans,” he said.
Goodyear has already signed on to be the official tire of the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion sprint cars, the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and many other race tracks including Knoxville Raceway.

The three-year agreement between the tracks and Goodyear specifies the 410 and 305 sprint divisions will incorporate a Goodyear 200 right rear tire and Goodyear 100 left rear tire. The tires can be purchased at long-time track supporters Kear’s Speed Shop, Kistler Racing Products and Fisher Performance.

However, the UMP DIRTcar late models at Attica Raceway Park will run an open Hoosier Racing Tire rule until July 1, 2010. After July 1, teams will be required to run Hoosier LM 20, 30 or 40 compounds on both rear tires of their car. The front two tires will remain open to any Hoosier compound.

To help the local racers, Goodyear will work with both tracks to donate a tire to the Hard Charger Award winner each week in both the 410 and 305 sprint car classes. The Hard Charger will have the choice of selecting a front or rear tire.

Also, the top three in the 2009 point standings in the 410 sprints will get a free front tire every five races.

“Goodyear recognizes sprint car racing as one of the elite forms of motorsports. We have a strong history in sprint car racing and we look
forward to building on that tradition in 2010,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear’s Marketing Manager of Global Race Tires.

“We are proud to be associated with two great weekly tracks like Attica and Fremont with their talented race teams and loyal fans,” added Fantozzi.

FAST Series Prepares For 2nd Annual Racers Chili Challenge

(Maumee, OH) Plans are underway for the “2nd Annual Racer’s Chili Challenge” and race teams and fans should mark Saturday, February 20th on their calendars. This year’s event will be held in Fremont, Ohio once again, but this time at the Ballville Township Community Hall located at 1413 East Cole Road (across from the fire station). The Kistler Racing Products Fremont/ Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) organization will once again be heading up the planning of the chili cook-off along with the help of the Hoserville Ohio gang and several other generous volunteers. This event was established to bring fans, teams, promoters & drivers together in the off-season for some good fun, great chili, and a little bit of bench racing before the green flags wave once again at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway in 2010.

The doors will open to the public at 1 p.m. and general admission is just $5.00 at the door. Children 12 & under will be admitted free with a paid adult. Admission includes a sample cup and spoon to taste each team’s chili creation. Be sure to visit your favorite team’s booth often and vote for them as “The People’s Choice” award.

“The Inaugural Racer’s Chili Challenge was a big success,” says F.A.S.T. co-founder Bryan Autullo. “There were about 22 entries last year in 4 different categories and a lot of really great chili was consumed by the large crowd that showed up on a cold and snowy winter day.” Last winter’s celebrity judges (Brad Doty, Kenny Jacobs, Jim Linder, and Darl Harrison) voted the WFIN radio “Racing World” team as the “Grand Champion” and fans came from as far away as Western Pennsylvania to sample the chili, mingle with the Fremont & Attica drivers and the local racing legends throughout the afternoon. “We’re sticking to pretty much the same formula for 2010,” Autullo added. “We’re going to do a few things differently, but for the most part it will be the same recipe for a good time that we cooked up in 2009. We’ll have celebrity judges, games for the kids, a driver autograph session, and a couple of show cars this February.”

Celebrity judges will once again determine the best chili in each of the three divisions (Sprint Cars, Late Models/ Dirt Trucks & Fans/Media) and the winning team will receive a chili pot trophy and prize packs from Fremont Speedway, Attica Raceway Park, the F.A.S.T Series, and Hoserville Ohio. “The People’s Choice” chili will be voted on by the general public and the winner will receive the Grand Champion chili pot trophy and their choice of either a $100 gift certificate to Kistler Racing Products or $100 cash.

Scott Porter, co-founder of the F.A.S.T. organization commented, “We’re also bringing back the KS Sales & Service Hot Head Jalapeño Eating Contest and thanks to Kevin Shammo we’re doubling the prize money to $100 for the winner. This event was the highlight last year as Jason Tomczyk consumed 15 peppers in five minutes, while the event left several other contestants in tears.” Another event returning is the Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament for the kids (17 & under) presented by Computer Man, Inc. of Fremont, Ohio. New in 2010 will be a beanbag tournament presented by Hoserville Ohio – a charity organization that helps injured drivers with their medical expenses. Registration for the tournaments will take place the day of the event.

Updates about the 2nd Annual Racer’s Chili Challenge will be posted at www.fastondirt.com and can be heard on “The Last Lap FASTcast” on Wednesday nights leading up to the event at www.lastlaplive.com or www.dirtvision.com.

Kistler Racing Products Returns As FAST Series Title Sponsor In 2010

By Bryan Autullo – F.A.S.T. Public Relations

(Maumee, OH) The Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) is pleased to announce that Kistler Racing Products will return as the series title sponsor for the 2010 racing season. After a successful inaugural season, the F.A.S.T. series is excited about continuing its relationship with the Kistler brand. Kistler Racing Products and Kistler Engines are very well known in 410 sprint car racing and to have them associated once again with the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title is a shot in the arm for the series. Kistler Racing Products, a division of Kistler Engines, is well into their 2nd year of operation and will once again bring their expertise to the racers at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park where the chase for the 2010 Kistler Cup will begin once again in April. “Kistler Engines continues to be an icon in 410 sprint car racing and has powered sprint cars to victory at every level of this sport since 1993,” said F.A.S.T. co-founder Bryan Autullo. “Paul Kistler knows the sprint car business and when it comes to making horsepower he gets the job done. I want to thank Paul, Dave, and Brian for their continued support of our vision for this area.”

The F.A.S.T. Championship Series paid out nearly $30,000 in cash and another $30,000 in contingency prizes and awards in 2009. Craig Mintz was crowned Champion at the October awards banquet and took home the Kistler Cup trophy. “We couldn’t have done it without the support of Kistler Racing Products and the rest of the great businesses who contributed to this point fund,” said Autullo. “All of the sponsors and advertisers who stepped up and made this concept a reality should be commended. We are comitted to making things bigger and better for the upcoming season and we’ll have more big announcements soon.” The F.A.S.T. point fund is paid in addition to the two individual track point funds. The competitive hot bed of 410 sprint car racing in Northern Ohio produced 3 different Champions with Mintz hauling home the F.A.S.T. series hardware as Chris Andrews took the Attica Raceway Park track championship and Brock Mayes wore the crown at Fremont Speedway. This was the first time any of the three had won a championship title The F.A.S.T. series is working on the 2010 schedule in conjunction with the two tracks and planning several off-season events. FASTfest II, The 2nd Annual Racer’s Chili Challenge, and a few other events are in the works for the winter months to keep the fans involved all year long. Look for the F.A.S.T. display at upcoming area mall shows, trade shows, swap meets, and the Kistler Engines/Kistler Racing Products 2nd Annual Open House on January 9th. “We are committed to keeping the fans involved throughout the winter months,” said series co-founder Scott Porter. “Race fans are a very tight-knit community and there aren’t many things to do when its cold outside and the snow is falling. We try to give everyone something to look forward to during the winter months.” The F.A.S.T. group is also working with Kistler Racing Products to produce some new merchandise that will be revealed soon to the racing community. “We don’t slow down when the racing stops,” added Porter.
