By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) A forecast of very cold temperatures mixed with rain has prompted the cancellation of racing for opening night Friday, March 26th at Attica Raceway Park. “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant will open its 2010 season on Friday, April 2nd with the 410 winged sprints, Fultz Fabrications & Speed Shop UMP DIRTcar Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 sprints in action on Northern Ohio Truck Center Night. There is a rain date for Saturday, April 3rd!
“The forecast called for temperatures in the 20s with a strong northeast wind and we just didn’t want to put our great fans and race teams through that. Our teams spend a lot of time and money on their equipment and it’s just not worth risking all,” said Attica Operations Director Rex LeJeune.
Gates will open next Friday at 5 p.m. with racing underway at 7:45 p.m.
And coming Friday and Saturday, April 9th and 10th, the HD Supply Spring Nationals featuring the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars. The UMP Late Models join the sprints on Friday with the 305 sprints on the card Saturday.

The honorary Junior Fan Club winner for Friday, April 2nd’s Columbus Equipment/ Northern Ohio Truck Center Night is Blake Fetzer of Shelby, Ohio. His favorite driver is 410 sprint car driver Brandon Martin. See you at the track Blake!
By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) After a long snowy winter, racing will finally kick off in the Buckeye State at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, March 26, 2010 with the fire-breathing 410 sprints, wheel-hiking Fultz Fabrications and Speed Shop UMP late models and mud-slinging Fremont Fence 305 sprints in action on Columbus Equipment Night.
A lot of drama will play out in 2010 – can Chris Andrews defend his 410 sprint title; Paul Weaver win another 305 sprint championship; Ryan Missler make it two titles in a row in the late models; and Art Ball, the ageless one, take another truck championship? Who will win the second Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. (Fremont Attica Sprint Title) Championship and take home the $10,000 prize and Kistler Cup Trophy? It will all play out every Friday night at “Ohio ’s Finest Racing” speedplant.
A lot of improvements have been completed at ARP over the winter. The most noticeable for fans will be the new state-of-the-art message center located in the infield. The new electronic board will help keep fans abreast of what is going on during racing action in addition to providing information on upcoming events, sponsors and many more amenities.
Many of the bleacher boards have been replaced and a new guardrail and fencing has been installed along the pit area in turns 3 and 4. A new ticket both has been installed for the pit entrance and the track’s sound system has been upgraded.
More importantly, the dry weather last week has the grounds and track in great shape.

And don’t forget kids, ARP is instituting the Junior Fan Club in 2010 with many great prizes and lots of race night fun. Its FREE to join for any kids ages 6-12 years old. Visit the Action Photos booth on Friday to learn how to register.
