Henry sweeps All Stars at Attica Ambush; Ivy ends two year 305 drought

By Brian Liskai

ATTICA, Ohio – Cap Henry reminded everyone Saturday, Aug. 30 that he is equally dominate at Attica Raceway Park on a slick track as he is a heavy racing surface. The three time and defending track champion led all 35 laps of the non-stop NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline A-main to sweep the 37th annual Attica Ambush for his eighth win of 2025 at “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speed plant.

The victory on Great Lakes Truck Centers/Core & Main/All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads Night was worth $7,500 and was Henry’s fourth straight win at Attica and the eighth of the season at the track. Out of the 14 events at Attica in 2025, Henry hasn’t finished out of the top three with the exception of the pair of World of Outlaw races. It was his 28th career 410 sprint win at Attica, placing him third on the track’s all-time win list for the division behind Mark Keegan and Byron Reed. It was his 10th career All Star victory. Henry leads the nation in 410 sprint car victories in 2025 with 15.

Not only did Henry lead every lap, but he lapped up to 11th place and won by nearly nine seconds over Justin Clark, who posted his best ever finish with the All Stars, Zane DeVault, Bryce Lucius and Devon Borden who charged from 22nd.

“When the track’s like that it goes out to the crew guys. Zack, Jeff, Gary, Chris, Chad, Tony…Zack kept working on that thing after the heat race and after the dash. I know the past couple of weeks the track’s been fast and everyone thought that was our specialty and everyone forgot I was good at slick tracks before that. I’m just so proud of the guys. This is so much fun with the car is this fast,” said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff’s Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie’s Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W.

For Clark, who only has a few 410 sprint features under his belt after coming out of the 305 sprint ranks, his second place run – his second runner-up finish at Attica in 2025 – is a career best with the All Stars.

“It’s pretty unbelieveable. A big change from last night when I broke the throttle pedal in the B-main. I felt pretty comfortable…I don’t race a lot so any laps are valuable. I talked to a few people and got the car a lot better for today. I’m very thankful for everything my parents do for me,” said Clark beside his Clark Farms/Simpson Race Products backed #78.

Fremont, Ohio’s John Ivy has visited victory lane many times at Attica over his career. A former 410 and 305 Attica champion, Ivy has wins in 410 and 305 sprints and dirt trucks at Attica. However, it’s been a few years since he made an appearance in victory lane. That streak came to an end Saturday.

Ivy, who started fourth in the Fremont Fence 305 Sprint A-main, grabbed the lead from Logan Mongeau on lap 18 in the non-stop 25 lap affair and drove to his 18th career 305 sprint win over Mongeau, who lead the opening 17 laps, current point leader Seth Schneider, defending track champion Jamie Miller and Jimmy McGrath Jr.

“It’s been at least two years since I’ve won here…it’s too damn long. They had it locked down pretty good for me tonight. I just had to bide my time…I was starting to over drive it there a little bit and I had to tell myself to settle down. I could see I was gaining and gaining and we got to lapped traffic and I was like ‘yes.’ AJ has to listen to it every night when I get home and I think about being done. She tells me you aren’t done…you don’t know what you would do. I want to thank all my guys,” said Ivy beside his C&N Construction Supplies, Sonny’s Machine & Welding, Pub 400, Fox’s Painting, Level Performance, Level Utilities, SC Atkinson Farms, MRE of Ohio, Welty Financial Services, Dave Story Equipment & Repair, NAPA of Bryan, Kistler Racing Products, Minich Installations, Meade Motorcars backed #49i.

Attica Raceway Park will wrap up the 2025 season Friday, Sept. 5 with the Mark Keegan Classic featuring the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads/Kistler Racing Products Attica Fremont Championship Series Presented by the Bauman Auto Group 410 Sprints, the Design Graphics Group/Real Capz AFCS 305 Sprints and the Dirt Nerds Podcast Powered by Propane UMP late models on season championship night.

Henry breaks All Star streak with 7th win of the year at Attica; Moore hustles to Iron Man late model win

By Brian Liskai

ATTICA, Ohio – Cap Henry broke a two year winless streak with the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline Friday, Aug. 29, to open up the 37th Annual Attica Ambush. It was his third straight win at Attica, the seventh of the year at the track and was worth $5,000 on Great Lakes Truck Centers/Core & Main/Murphy Tractor/The Adkins Group Night.

Henry, a three time Attica track champion, led all 35 laps of the feature event for his ninth career All Star victory, his first since April of 2022. It is his 27th career 410 win at Attica. Henry is now tied with Ryan Timms and Rico Abreu for the most 410 winged sprint wins in 2025 in the nation, each with 14 victories

Henry had to survive a green-white-checker finish and was running out of fuel at the end but hung on to win over Cale Thomas, Kasey 10th starter Kasey Jedrzejek, Bryan Sebetto and 20th starter Craig Mintz.

“We got lucky there…it was running out of fuel the last lap. These guys have to figure out the fuel lap count…it’s just not right. Luckily we got ourselves in position to start on the front row. I felt like we were pretty good in traffic. All my guys have worked so hard this year. To win another All Star race…to be honest I didn’t think we were going to do that any time soon,” said Henry beside his Premier Planning Service, Jeff Ward Demolition, Ohio Logistics, Primal Tee Shop, Innovative Excavating, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, FK Rod Ends, King Racing, Griff’s Engines; Berryman Racing Shocks, Callie’s Performance Products, Dyers, Power Cool Manufacturing, SCS Gearbox, Tony Elliott Foundation backed #33W.

Thomas, from Fountaintown, Ind., was also running low on fuel on that last run.

“I had my troubles at the beginning of the night…we pulled through. I put myself in position to challenge Cap and I got into the wreck with Bryce Lucius and Cody Bova had nowhere to go…stuff was vibrating and you’re trying to beat the guy who’s the best here and it’s really tough. And that last restart I was running out of fuel so I couldn’t even try to put a move on him,” said Thomas beside his Rudzik Excavating, AL Drivelines, Centerline Boring, Smith Titanium backed #49X.

It was the 142nd appearance of the All Stars at Attica, the first in two years as three other attempts were rained out in 2025.

Defending UMP Late Model track champion Kyle Moore led all 30 laps of the Valvoline American Late Model Iron Man Series for his second career series win. Moore’s $5,000 payday is the fourth of the year at Attica and his 10th career late model win at the track. He has 16 total late model victories in 2025.

In a race that saw only one caution, Moore won by over three seconds over Chad Finley, Todd Brennan, Colten Burdette and Greg Oakes.

“Car’s been good. We’re excited. Damn this car is good. I have to thank Tye Tworg for giving me this opportunity. He’s given me a great car and a lot of help,” said Moore beside his Kepling Flooring, Tye Tworg Longhorn, Joyride Transportation, Smitley Towing, Short Stop, Malcuit Race Engines, Wilson Realty, Robin Jakubick, RL Bond Septic, Hepthorn Golf Cart Sales, House of Spud, K&B Septic Service, Coffman Composites, Team Midwest Paint, Platinum Design backed #1*.

The Attica Ambush will continue Saturday, Aug. 30 with the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions Presented by Valvoline Sprint Car Series and the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.
