2016 Attica Raceway Park Season Opener Moved To Saturday

ATTICA, Ohio – Cold conditions have forced Attica Raceway Park to move it’s 2016 season opener to Saturday, March 26. Gates will open Saturday at 3 p.m. with hot laps at 5 p.m. and racing slated to get underway at 6 p.m. on Construction Equipment and Supply Night.

“It’s only going to get into the low 40s during the day Friday and lows Friday night in the 30s. Saturday’s forecast is high temperatures in the mid 50s. We didn’t want our fans and race teams to have to deal with that cold. And, with the rain we are getting today (Thursday), it gives our crew an extra day to get things ready,” said Rex LeJeune, ARP Director of Operations.

Racing Saturday will be the O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 Sprints, the Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models and the Fremont Fence 305 Sprints. Again, fans should take note that gates will open Saturday at 3 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m.

Adult general admission tickets are $15 with senior citizens tickets at $13; teens (ages 11-15) at $10 and kids 10 and under get in free. Pit passes will remain at $30.

2016 Tire Rule Announced For Sprint Cars

ATTICA/FREMONT, Ohio – Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway will add more Hoosier right rear tire choices for sprint teams in 2016.
Along with the 16-inch medium Hoosier tire that has been in use at both tracks for the past three seasons, the H15, H20, and the new W18 will be allowed for use in both the 410 and 305 weekly sprint programs.

The 410 sprints will be allowed all four tire choices beginning with the first race of the season – March 25 at Attica and April 16 at Fremont. The 305 sprints will remain on the medium Hoosier tires only through the end of April in an effort to allow the race teams to use their tire inventory and give them a chance to generate a supply of new tire choice. Beginning May 6th, the 305 sprints will be allowed to run any of the tire choices.

“We feel adopting the new tire choice will put our tracks in uniform with the sanctioning bodies and the rest of the Ohio tracks,” said promoters John Bores and Rich Farmer.
