Friday Racing Action Rained Out; Still On For Saturday

By Brian Liskai: ATTICA, Ohio (Friday, April 7, 2006) – Very heavy rains Friday morning forced the cancellation of racing at Attica Raceway Park for Friday, April 7. Plans to have the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and limited late models in action Saturday, April 8 are still on.

“The entire fairgrounds are saturated from the parking areas to the pits to the track,” said ARP Operations Manager Rex LeJeune. “There’s just not enough time to get the facility ready by race time. They’re also calling for more heavy rains later this afternoon.”

LeJeune said for now the raindate of Saturday, April 8 is still on, and should the weather change, a decision would be made early tomorrow to give race teams and fans time to make their plans.

Gates will open Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with racing slated for 7:30 p.m. (note this is a half hour earlier than for Friday’s shows).

General admission tickets for adults are $14 each; $12 for senior citizens; $10 for teens 11-15; and children 10 and under are free. Visa and Mastercard are accepted.
