Attica Raceway Park Signs With Hoosier Tires For 2013 Season

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) Two of the Midwest most successful winged sprint car tracks – Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park – both located within 40 miles of one another – have announced that Hoosier Tires will be the official tire supplier for 410 and 305 sprints in 2013.

The new contract with Hoosier Tire calls for all four corners of sprint cars to carry the brand. The contract is for five years.

Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer said after Goodyear announced they were leaving sprint car racing, there has been testing go on between the remaining two tire manufacturers.

“Our main goal going into the negotiations was to find a tire that was capable of lasting longer than one night and bring the cost down to our teams,” said Farmer. “The tires we will be using are capable of going two or three nights or longer and can be reversed to get even more wear.”

Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park join Knoxville Raceway, the IRA and many other tracks across the country who will be running the Hoosier brand in 2013.

“We tried to strike a balance between what is best for the race teams, the tracks and the fans. We feel Hoosier offered the best alternative to accomplish our goals,” said Rex LeJeune, Director of Operations for Attica Raceway Park . “Hoosier has been a very good partner to Attica with our late model division and previously for both race tracks for the sprint cars. We are happy to be working with a company like Hoosier whose commitment to racers and the tracks has been unsurpassed over the years.”

The cost of the Hoosier rear tires will be $198 and the fronts $165.
