By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) Rain showers in the early afternoon, with severe thunderstorms forecast for around 4:30 p.m. and more severe weather predicted throughout the night has caused the Friday, June 13 races to be cancelled at Attica Raceway Park on Quality Welding Night.
“Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant will be back in action on a busy weekend beginning Friday, June 20. True Value of Woodville, Pepsi and Bazell Racing Fuels will present the American Late Model Series along with the 305 sprints and dirt trucks. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and racing will begin at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, June 22, the 26th Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek kicks off at Attica Raceway Park on Aaron’s Sales and Lease/Ohio CAT Night. Attica begins seven straight nights of racing across the Buckeye State and drivers from across the country and Australia are expected to compete in the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions sanctioned event.
The Service Drive Solutions UMP Attica Late Models will also be in competition as they battle for the $1,000 top prize.
“Everyone will be gunning to start speedweek with a win at Attica. The winner Sunday will have the upper hand in the attempt to win the $50,000 bonus that goes to any driver who wins four of the seven features throughout the week,” said Attica Operations Director Rex LeJeune.
Gates will open Sunday at 4 p.m. with racing to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
