By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) The weather outside is delightful and the racing is so exciteable…and since he has no place to go, Santa will show, Santa will show, Santa will show….at Attica Raceway Park that is!
The “Jolly Ol’ Elf” himself will travel south to “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant on Friday, July 20, to celebrate Christmas in July, thanks to Smith Family Frosted Foods.
Fans are encouraged to wear their Christmas colors – red and green – as they enjoy the night of fun at Attica, with some great racing in the World Auto Parts of Huron/Cleveland 410 Sprints, 305 winged sprints, Fultz Fabrications & Speedshop Attica Late Models and the dirt trucks. Over 90 fast and furious racing vehicles are expected to compete in over 15 racing events on the one-third mile banked oval.
And though he’s officially on “vacation,” Santa can’t resist putting smiles on the faces of kids of all ages. The jolly ol’ fella will have many gifts to pass out along with candy canes throughout the evening. At least one lucky fan will win a ride in the Attica “sleigh,” leading the racing field in the Baumann Auto Group pace truck. One good little boy, and one good little girl (ages 10 and under) will receive a free bike thanks to Big D’s Landscaping and Chris Andrews Racing.
Everyone – parents included – will enjoy Christmas in July at Attica Raceway Park. Adult general admission is only $14; senior citizens $12, teens 11-15 years of age, $10; and, as always, kids 10 and under are FREE!. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing action heats up at 8 p.m.
Attica Raceway Park is located in the Attica Fairgrounds, just northeast of the U.S. 224/St. Rt. 4 intersection. For more information visit www.atticaracewaypark.com or call 419-680-5606.
Merry Christmas – in July – to all, and to all a fun night!
