By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) From the time a driver first hits the track at Attica Raceway Park for hot laps until the final checkered flag of the night flies, the world’s best sprint car drivers have to have their “elbows up” and drive as hard as they can. The high-banked one-third-mile provides some of the closest and toughest racing on the entire World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series schedule.
Fans can order their reserved seats now for the Kistler Engines Classic at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, May 29. The top five rows of the main grandstands are reserved and seats are $30 cash or check ($32 with credit card). Call (419) 680-5606 to order. A seating chart of the main grandstand can be viewed by clicking here
Last year Fargo, North Dakota’s Donny Schatz really got on track for his third straight World of Outlaws championship by scoring his second win of the 2008 season as he took the checkers at Attica. In the 2007 race, Joey Saldana took the lead from “The King” Steve Kinser late in the race and held off challenges from Schatz to take the win.
The May 29th event will be the 9th visit to “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant by the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series. The series first competed at Attica in 1990 with 20-time series champion Kinser picking up the win. He is the only driver that has won more than one A-feature event with the series at the track.
