Big Purse for big show at Attica Raceway Park

By Brian Liskai: ATTICA, Ohio (Tuesday, May 23, 2006) – When royalty comes to town, you had better roll out the red carpet, or in racing’s case, the green cash!

Such is the case when “The King,” Steve Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Tim Kaeding and the rest of the stars of the National Sprint Tour visit Attica Raceway Park Friday, May 26. Thanks to sponsor Kistler Engines of Fremont, the feature event will pay $10,000 to win!

The NST visit also presents a great opportunity for the Attica “regulators” to earn some cash. The total purse for the night’s racing is over $53,000!

“The feature will pay $800 to start, with 10th finishing position paying $2,000 and 15th paying $1,000,” said ARP Operations Director Rex LeJeune. “The total A-main purse is $49,400.”

The first non-transfer position in the B-main will pay $400, while the B-main pays $150 to start.

There are still reserved seats remaining – the top 10 rows are all reserved seats – for $30 ($32 if using Visa or MasterCard). Call the track office at 419-426-8911 for more information.

The fans will also play an important part of the program. Children’s ticket numbers will be pulled, with the winners drawing the pill for the starting position of the drivers in the two dashes which determine the starting line-up for the A-main. The lucky fan who draws the starting spot of the dash winners will get to visit the driver later on and gets that driver’s t-shirt.

There will also be an autograph session with NST drivers between 5-6 p.m.

The pits will open at ARP Friday at 3:30 p.m. with spectator gates opening 4:30 p.m.
