2014 Speedweek Race Rained Out

By Brian Liskai: (Attica, OH) Just as the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions officials were preparing to open the pill draw Friday at Attica Raceway Park, the skies opened up, drowning the opener for the 32nd Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek.

The heavy rain was just too much for the track crew as they had worked over the past two days to take care of the aftermath of a big storm that struck the area Wednesday night. In fact, Wednesday’s storm left water half way up the track but Attica crews worked diligently to try and get Ohio Caterpillar Night underway but Mother Nature did not cooperate.

Fans who had purchased tickets can use the rain checks at any event throughout the year at Attica Raceway Park.

The next event for “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant will be Friday, July 4 for Kear’s Speed Shop Presents Fan Appreciation Night. General admission is just $10 for adults with the O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 Sprints; Summit Racing Equipment UMP DIRTcar Late Models; Foster’s Auto Body 305 Sprints; and the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks in action.

It is a Kistler Racing Products FAST (Fremont Attica Sprint Title) Championship Series points event for the 410 sprints.

After hot laps the pit gates will swing open for fans to meet the crews and drivers and the free Attica Race Program will be available. Also, hot dogs will be just $1 and popcorn 50 cents.
